HOW WAS MESTIZO FOUNDED?

Mestizo is a chef-driven meal prep service serving the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, founded by chefs Shawn and Vena Brewer. Mestizo brings global flavors into a convenient weekly meal prep format — making it easy to enjoy chef-crafted meals throughout the week WITHOUT the stress of cooking, cleaning or grocery shopping.

Chef Shawn Brewer, brings over 11 years of culinary experience to the kitchen. Inspired by cooking alongside his grandmother and shaped by years working in restaurant management and traveling the world, Shawn’s cooking blends global flavors with professional technique. Vena Brewer brings more than 40 years of experience in restaurant operations and management, helping transform their passion for food into a streamlined, customer-focused meal prep experience.

Together, they created Mestizo to serve the community with flavorful, chef-prepared meals made fresh each week. Mestizo offers chef-prepared dishes, gluten-free and keto options, and convenient weekly meal plans designed for busy professionals, families, and food lovers across the Bay Area.

Mestizo’s Meals bring together global fusions and international flavors, and years of real kitchen experience to create fresh, chef-prepared meals for everyday convenience. Led by Shawn “LionfaceDaCheff” and Vena “Cheff Vee” our team uses halal chicken, premium grass-fed beef, locally sourced vegetables, and scratch-made sauces and marinades to deliver bold, wholesome meals that fit busy lifestyles, including keto and gluten-free friendly options.
